The HYNIX brand was inspired by a journey of oceanic exploration:

During a journey through the Aegean Sea in ancient Greece, the brand founder heard the story of "the night watchman of the Temple of Poseidon, a white-haired priest who had guarded the site for generations": the mystery of the shipwreck caused by an earthquake in Crete in 365 A.D.

In 1987, while surveying the ruins of the Temple of Poseidon at Cape Sounion, marine archaeologist Andreas was attracted by a metallic flash that refracted the sunlight. In the reef where the temple ruins meet the Aegean Sea, he found a bronze box entangled in seaweed. Inside the box lay an ancient pocket watch with a seahorse motif, and the inscription "hynix" was still clearly visible on the dial.

In the world guarded by Poseidon, the sun penetrates the waves of the Aegean Sea, exploring the coral reefs of Peristerra, the volcanic rocks of Sicily, the Blue Hole of Dion, etc. In 1995, the HYNIX watch was born, inspired by these adventures: some dials are engraved with ancient Greek wave motifs, the 1,200-metre water-resistant case is as sturdy as Poseidon's armour, and the luminescent hands are like the sacred fire in the depths, guiding the divers.
